Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive and fatal disease of the brain. According to the Alzheimer's Association, "Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life." Although there is no cure, treatment can slow down the development of Alzheimer's disease.

The care of the individual with Alzheimer's disease usually falls on relatives and loved ones. Caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease can be very difficult, thus it's important to seek information and support from professionals and Alzheimer's support groups.

My grand pa suffered from Alzheimers before he died. I wish I had this information then. We had no clue what he was going through. It was all put down to a eight nine year old man's flagging memory.

My grandmother started showing signs just before she passed on. It's such a terrible, frightening disease. I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa.
